This painting on paper, part of my Beyond the Mask series, is inspired by the ancestral symbolism of the Bwa Owl Mask. In African tradition, the owl embodies vigilance, wisdom, and the ability to see beyond the visible. In my reinterpretation, the mask becomes not only a symbol but also a personal portal, a way to connect with invisible realities and reflect on the role of ancestral archetypes in our present.

As part of my Beyond the Mask series, this piece seeks to honor the power of cultural memory while opening a dialogue between African heritage and contemporary creativity.
